From an undisclosed source, Whole Foods Market will officially stop selling plastic bags starting in January. It'll probably 'cause an uproar amongst silly Americans championing their right to a flimsy sack that takes 1000 years to bio-degrade.
The PB&J Campaign is exactly how it sounds. According to them, choosing a PB&J for lunch over an animal-based lunch, or a grilled cheese (oh, shit), will save:
- 2.5 lbs of carbon dioxide emissions
- 3.5 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions
- 280 gallons of water
- 12-50 sq. feet of land
- 16 PB&Js will save a chicken's life
