Breakfast Tiramisu for 2.

I went to bed last night feeling unfulfilled.

That's entirely rare and unacceptable for me.

It had nothing to do with bed, in case your mind started spinning. We showed up over half an hour early for Black Swan only to find that it was already sold out. We came back to the apartment and I wanted tea but there was no chai in the cupboard.

And then I wanted coconut milk ice cream, but I didn't want to re-experience the tundra. City folk that are fortunate enough to have vegan ice cream and 50 varieties of tea about a block away with a deli that stays open late have it ALL.

I woke up this morning wanting dessert for breakfast. And not just any - I wanted (never home) maker's Tiramisu Oatmeal Bake.

There are quite a few steps involved in this process, but it's worth the 20 minutes...My bananas never quite broiled, but I did not have brown sugar, so I expected that. It was my first time using the broiler on my electric oven, and in case you were not aware, electric ovens are no fun for broiling.

Dessert for breakfast is what everybody needs sometimes. The cocoa powder and bananas are an instant lift.

The oats were cooked perfectly, creamy and full with the body of baking powder. What would give this extra zing?

"Peanut butter", I suggested brazenly, angling my head at Mr. Vedge to see if I had gone too far.

"I think peanut butter would make this even better," he concurred.

Peanut Butter Tiramisu Oatmeal? Somebody stop me.

Check out the recipe here.
