Brunch Shots.

The one thing that was lacking in Philadelphia's brunch scene? Insane coffee. Sure, some of it is passable, but most of it goes down like muddy oil.

Then there's the expansion of One Shot Coffee, with a revamped menu and larger location, and still the best cup of J, hands down. Now showing: Brunch, 7 days a week, 7 am - 7pm.

Start with a Soy Latte...

Did someone order the Tofu Scramble (V)?

It's both eggy and crisp at the same time, a textural scramble that's surprisingly delicate and balanced. If the Four Seasons made Tofu Scramble (they probably would if that's what you wanted), I imagine it'd be something like this. But the coffee would not be as good, so uh, save your money and come to One Shot!

How about a House Pickle?

Or get sweet on a Homemade Almond Butter, Caramelized Bananas, and Sea Salt Bagel (V)

Everything we sampled on the new menu thus far has been Extremely Pleasing. Mark a date on your Vegan Brunch Calendar and try it for yourself.

One Shot Coffee, 217 W. George St.

I LOVED the one iced coffee I had at One Shot, and I didn't even realize they had food too! This looks amazing!!!

The new menu is seriously worth checking out - there is a dining room on the second floor and they have all kinds of egg dishes and chai tea french toast, so whether you're craving savory/sweet/vegan/coffee nerd, it's all taken care of!

That looks delicious, I am exploring vegan cuisine, and I would definitely love to eat there. Great find!

I don't think they have brunch beyond bagels and flavored vegan cream cheese (the jalapeno is awesome!), but grindcore house has the best coffee I've had in the city. Lots of vegan treats, too.

I'm a huge fan of Grindcore but I don't think their coffee is the best the couple of times that I've tried various drinks there.

It's the baristas at One Shot that do it for me - all of the skill but none of the swagger.
